Browning 12 gauge auto serial number dating

The original version of the Remington 1100 shotgun came out only in the 12 gauge in 1963, followed by the 16 gauge and 20 gauge in 1964, and finally the .410 gauge Remington 1100 in 1969.

In 1970 a matched set came out in .410 gauge and 28 gauge.

I compiled this quick reference serial number guide for dating 16ga Browning A5s and the Auto 5-3 Shot, by serial number.
